Get Peachy – release your glutes and core.

It’s time to get PEACHY ! Mama’s and Mama’s to be PLEASE show off your bootiful booties and stop “tucking and sucking”. As females told to do this (I know I was told as a ballet dancer) to squeeze my glutes and draw in my core. Doing this for prolonged periods is actually unhealthy for your, pelvic floor, core and lower back.

Why ?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

As during Pregnancy your center of gravity shifts forward. This also occurs post pregnancy when you carry a baby  in front or in a baby carrier. Plus think about all the “mum moves” you do leaning forward over prams, cars, change tables and cots ! Because of this, many women have a tendency to clench the glutes and lean back to compensate for the additional anterior or front weight.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Overtime this can contribute to weak glutes, lower back pain, pelvic floor dysfunction and the ever famous flat “mum bum”

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To overcome this become a little more conscious of where your glutes sit – are they tucked or nice and rounded like a nice plump peach ?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Keep a neutral posture, soften your ribs and show off your beautiful booty !
